Congratulations on your new arrival!
Don’t you wonder what your baby would tell you…if only they could?
Before your baby speaks their first ‘I love you’ or put any of its many wants, needs, thoughts or opinions into verbal cues, your baby can communicate through its first language – the language of physical expression.
Massaging your baby has many benefits, for you and baby. A nice massage will help your baby drift off to a calmer sleep, steady her heart rate and body temperature, self-soothe and, most importantly, get to know the most important people in her life: mummy, daddy and the other primary caregivers trusted to love, adore and massage her.
For you, massaging your baby is a great way to spend quiet and conscious time together, understand her expressions and cues, bond and even assists lactation and letdown if breastfeeding. Massage is a beautiful way to get to know your baby’s body and her wants, needs, likes and dislikes.
Most of all, it is an allocated time for you and baby to connect and ‘just be’.
How is the course delivered?
I am happy to visit you in the comfort of your home and you can invite all your baby’s caregivers as well as other friends with babies to share in the session.
Alternatively, I host massage classes at the Studio 70 yoga in Glasgow’s southside, with the first classes starting June 1st. Why not come along 11-12 and invest some quality time with baby and meet other new parents? All ages from newborn to wiggler are welcome. Afterwards, there is always a chance to treat yourself to a coffee, cake and chat at the delicious Lagom bakery next door.
